'Cause Rings Make Everything Go Round - Forever 21

I was going through my rings last week and realized most of them were quite outdated and I really didn’t have much in the collection anymore. So I made up my mind to buy me some new ones, and what better place to shop for pretty, cute and funky rings than Forever 21. :D
I went to their store the next day and got me the following.
1-       Silver Arrow Rings with three plain ones.
2-       Animal Rings Set – Cat in gold, Owl in silver, and Elephant in gold.
3-       Rabbit Ring in Silver.

The rabbit ring was actually a gift for a bunny-obsessed friend. She has been trying to get a bunny for a pet while now and the moment I saw it I knew I just had to get it for her. I can’t gift her real rabbit so I thought why not give her one in form of a ring, as she is very much obsessed with rings too. She loved it. :)

22nd November, 2013 - An Exceptionally Good Day

This post is more of an update on one of the best days I’ve had so far. If you are not interested in knowing about my life or about me, then you can skip through this one, and if you are interested then; Keep Calm and Read On. :D  ♥
On 21st November’s evening, it rained cats and dogs in Muscat, with hailing in some main city areas. It was a new experience for us Muscatis as something as close to as snow falling down in our desert is quite a huge thing. Unfortunately I wasn’t amongst the lucky ones to witness it. I was busy packing my parents’ luggage for their flight to our hometown the next morning. I did get to enjoy the rain later at night though, but it was more of a drizzle and not super rainstorm/thunderstorm kind of a thing which I am very crazy about. Would say I missed the best rain Muscat has ever seen in ages.
The weather forecast for the next day and a couple more said it would rain heavily again. My siblings and I were a little worried for our parents’ flight knowing it would surely get delayed. Other than that the news had me all excited as I am a major rain fan. :D
We woke up to a cloudy weather the next day. I am not very good at saying goodbyes hence I wished my parents farewell and stayed back home while my brothers drove them to the airport. Another reason was I was major sleep deprived and needed to regain some energy from the previous night’s insomnia. So once home alone I tried my very best to sleep but all my efforts were in vain.
It had started drizzling by then and Muscat transformed into a fairytale land for me.Muscat in the rain is just beautiful. Words cannot describe its beauty. Following are two pictures to show you how it looked like from my window.

As I was looking out of the window totally mesmerized, I got a call from my brothers asking me to get ready because they were coming to get me for some breakfast outside and a cruise ‘round the city. As tired as I was, I still got up, got dressed properly, for once did my hair, and whoosh I went on the mighty adventure.

Now we were four famished, sleep deprived, low on energies people seeking for food on a rainy day at wee hours in Muscat. We were taking names of every spot we could think of, from fast food to traditional. The argument went on and on, and so did the wheels of the car. :D
Yes, Muscat is under construction in several places.

The first stop we made was to Gulf Beach – because we wanted to see the sea, and also because we were on our way to Jawharat Al Shatti.

My favorite place.

On our way to JAS we passed Royal Opera House, which looked like a haunted place to me. On normal days, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in Muscat. :) Here is a scary version of it from my camera, LOL.

Our first choice at JAS was D’Arcy Kitchen, but it was packed. To stop me from passing out, I was treated to my most favorite drink that makes me a happy bunny, Dilato from Second Cup. Milk, Coffee, Oreas and whipped cream – oh my god, life is beautiful with every sip of it. ♥

The argument was still in full swings when we finally decided to go to Al Makan Café in MGM. The weather was beautiful and a rooftop view of the city while eating would have been all a person could ask for.
The moment I stepped into MGM, a visit to Borders is a compulsion, followed by a visit to Hallmark. Borders make me a happy bunny as well. :D Any good bookstore in any mall is my favorite and happy place. Borders is where I got my One Direction Official Annual 2014 Book from – All the more reasons to be happy. :) I wasn’t hoping to buy the book before next month’s pocket money, but God was kind on me that day, and *someone* got me the book as a late birthday present. :) What more can a person ask for in one day.
Anyway, to our bad luck Makan was closed and we had to resort to eating McDonald’s for breakfast that day. :P *McDonald’s is happiness too!! :D *
Once done from there, we all went home and slept our bums off and got up around evening. Before I could think of rocking my PJs for the rest of the evening and sulk around in every corner of the house which is my usual routine when mum dad go away somewhere for long, my brother asked me to get dressed because we were going out hunting for camping stuff. He had a plan of going for camping the next weekend (which was this weekend, like last night) and was insistent I go along. But I was stuck with a lot of college work as well as other things to do, so I had to refuse, :( plus washroom issues.
After two hours of searching Sultan Center’s camping portion high and low, Bro told me ‘The Hunger Games; Catching Fire’ is on tonight and lets go for it. Boy was I excited. :D
Canadian-Catching-Fire-LA-Premiere-Contest
I have read the series over the summer and even though I did not like the first movie The Hunger Games, Catching Fire was my favorite book in the series and I wanted to watch the movie, to see if the directors have disappointed me again this time or was it any good. I wasn’t sure if I was willing enough to watch it in the cinema though. But the day was going good and this could have been the perfect end to it. So I said, ‘alright, bring it on.’ And to be very honest, it was worth it. :)
So, let us do the math now.
1-      Rainy Day – Check
2-      Second Cup – Check
3-      One Direction Book – Check
4-      McDonald’s for breakfast – Check
5-      Movie Night in cinema that too Catching Fire – Check
Could this day be any more perfect?! I guess not. :D
God, Thank You for blessing me with such an amazing day and surrounding me with such amazing people. ♥

Parfois - Wallet Purchase

I have been meaning to buy a new wallet from a really long time now but I never found the perfect one. I think I have become quite picky now when I shop. I was looking for a wallet big enough to fit all my cards in, which are quite a lot. That was my first priority. I am not much fond of carrying a separate card wallet because I already have way too much stuff in my bag, it would just get lost amongst all my things. My second priority was that it be normal sized enough that it does not take much space in my bag.
I went to Carrefour, Qurum, the other day hoping to check out some footwear and beauty products but instead I ended up in Parfois. I thought to take a quick look and see if there is anything new in their collection. Going through their wallet section haphazardly I finally came across my new purchase. :D The moment I set my eyes on it, I knew it was the one. (LOL)

Love the nude color.
Huge animal print fan here, especially Leopard. (yes i love the shopping bag from Parfois too)

One thing that I’d like to mention here is that I really liked the staff. She was sweet, friendly, assisting and wasn’t hovering over me continuously while I was making up my mind about the wallet.
Have you bought anything from Parfois lately?! What’s your favorite product from their brand?!

Guess Who Got Lucky Yesterday?! – 1D Annual 2014 Book

Aloha People!
Guess who became a lucky, ‘Crazy Mofo’ yesterday?! Yes, yes, ME!!
I finally got my hands on One Direction’s Official Annual 2014 book. Now let me give you a little background here. The bookstores in Muscat get updated a little late then actual releases – kind of pretty late. That’s why whenever we see new books in the store we literally get giddy with happiness.
When I saw One Direction’s book in the newly opened Borders in MGM last week, I just had to have it. Yes, I am a crazy directioner and yes we do not get much celeb related stuff here so what little we do get, we grab it with both hands.
I am just so happy with the book. It’s beautiful – with high quality hardback covers and thick, heavy weight pages, it pretty much ensure the book won’t get ruined that easily even with multiple reads. I will be writing a review for the book once I am done reading it properly. For now I have just skimmed through the pages and looked at the lads’ lovely faces. Ah, fangirl details. xD
Hope Borders get Where We Are book too for us – and soonish, hehe.
Have you bought 1D’s Annual 2014 book?! Did you like it?! Do share your views in the comments below! :)

November Playlist

Hello there!!
It’s a sunny day here in Muscat and pretty windy too. Today is the 43rd National Day of Oman so most colleges and school must be having some kind of entertainment programs. My college might have it too but because I am a part time student and not very active in these sort of activities I have no idea, ha! Another thing is that most of these programs are presented in Arabic which is the national language here, and I don’t know any Arabic, hence it is kind of also pointless for me to attend such shows.
Okay, let me tell you a very weird thing about me – I am not a music freak. Music freak, in the sense, that I do not spend hours and hours to find those perfect songs to fit in my playlist, unless of course I am not in the mood. But I am also not the kind of a person who would listen to just anything at all. It’s like if I download a song and listen to it, and if I like it way too much, I can literally spend three months easily with listening to just that one song on repeat. I wouldn’t need any other music for a while then. I recently updated my playlist in my phone, like just last night, and am very excited about it LOL.
Ever since Ramadan got over all I have been listening to is One Direction, both their albums and the rest of the songs from x-factor, comic relief and of course, Best Song Ever, combined with a bit of Lana Del Rey, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, Florence and the Machine, Rihanna and The Mortal Instruments soundtracks. My Bruno Mars craze has quite subsided. Anyway, today I am going to share my playlist with you all!! :D Most of the songs are outdated I know and they are making me feel like I should music hunt every month or two months at least. Why Do I Read...?!

954724_608614962504525_325831077_n
Have you ever felt like if you put down a book and stop reading for a while, your whole world will come crashing down?!
Do you ever get the feeling that the only thing holding you to your normal state is your books in which you bore yourself day and night just to skip past your reality?!
Or do you ever feel like just sitting in a place and arguing with yourself that you are just going to waste your time sitting idle so it is better to hold a book and read it cover to cover?!
I have felt almost every single one of those emotions.
Ever since this year started I got back to reading books. I don’t remember when was the last time I read a book with passion or such eagerness like I am doing now.
I can recall reading a book previously; more like savoring it’s every single page, word by word. But now all I can see or feel is me in a rush to end the book as quickly as I can and start another one right away. I do not stop for anything. All I want to do is just read, read, and read, no matter what.
Reading has become so important and such an integral part to me that even if I am sitting idle for a second or browsing the internet I feel like I am wasting my precious time which can be well spent on reading a book instead.
I don’t know the reason as to why I feel this way but I do feel like if I ever stop reading my world will collapse the very instant. I believe it is better to lose myself into a world that doesn’t exist but is at least an immense source of comfort.
I think if I don’t, all the lies and make beliefs I tell myself to keep going from one day to another will reveal their selves, and confront me telling how my reality is nothing but a bunch of fake scenarios I keep making in my head to survive these long days and even longer nights. It might disclose to me about how everything I hold dear is just a hoax, and it is time to let go of it, for my own good.
But maybe I am not strong enough to do it, to let go, not right now, and maybe never.
I can’t stop reading because I am not prepared to face my own actualities. I am too afraid to deal with my own lies.

Why Write?!

The reason why people like me need to write is so that we can put our minds at ease. We tend to live too many realities and lives parallel to our real existence and hence are bound to lose ourselves in them. This leads to us not being able to distinguish between the real one and the one we had imagined in our head or lived for someone else.
For people like me, writing is a therapy. To set aside what had been done, what we have been through or simply felt, so that it does not come back haunting us when we don’t have our guards up and take us back to the moment we are trying to forget. Or best trying to put in a picture of words so that we can let that piece rest in peace in some corner of our mind where we don’t have to visit it as often as our unconscious mind is making us to.

Don't Die..

My most favorite part from the book The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. This made me cry, and such a thing never happens with me. But this was just too sad. *Sigh*
*
As we held each other, Jai whispered something in my ear.
“Please don’t die.”
It sounds like Hollywood dialogue. But that’s what she said. I just hugged her more tightly.

Favorite Quote – Friends Forever by Danielle Steel (Book)

I think our generation is cursed. All you ever read about are kids our age who are shot and killed, die in car wrecks, or kill themselves, or do drive-by shootings and kill fifty people. What’s wrong with us? Why does this shit happen?

The Hanging Tree

the_hanging_tree_by_ratgirlstudios-d4gplpu
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man they say murdered three.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out for his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run so we’d both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
This is a song which features in Mockingjay, the third book in The Hunger Games series. I really wanted to share it because it’s one of my most favorite parts in the book. This song has some deep meaning to it which you will get once you read the book or probably when the movie comes out.
Enjoy! ❤
